We worked with Arete on a bathroom and closet remodel and were very happy with the results. They made everything very easy from design to finish. Ivana was great getting the project started and Vasilka took the inspiration photos we shared and came up with a design that truly exceeded our expectations. Marina managed our project and she’s kept everything running smoothly from start to finish. She made sure the schedule was on time and that we knew exactly when each subcontractor would be at our house working on the project.

Our condominium association at 512 North McClurg court dba, River East Condominium Association engaged Arete for the task of renovating our hospitality room. The existing condition was the original space of almost 20 years old, so for that reason, we needed a complete updated design and vibe. I’m pleased to report that because of the attention to detail of Arete the outcome is spectacular! We found the entire staff at Arete to be patient and cooperative as we worked our way through various decisions that needed to be made beyond the scope of the architectural plans. The staff was very knowledgeable and informative and always mindful to provide solutions that were economically within our budget without compromising quality or the overall design intent. In fact, our project came in under budget and looks beautiful! Our project manager Ivan is a great listener to the various stakeholders (and there were many) that had input throughout the project. Also, Davor, one of the owners of the company, paid personal attention to our project and participated in update meetings with our committee to ensure that the right decision was made within our budget without compromising quality. Arete is a family-owned business who cares about their customers and that becomes obvious in dealing with them from day one to the ribbon cutting.

Arete Renovators has completed three projects for us over ten years, the latest one gut-renovating a 2300 sqft apartment in a 1970s high rise building. Their team does excellent quality work, and they stand behind it. Marina, our project manager, is a true professional. She successfully shepherded our project through many difficulties and complications, including several unexpected delays due to required building infrastructure repairs and many changes to the scope of work. Arete really knows their way around the complexities of high rise renovation projects, and I highly recommend them if you are planning a similar project. We love our gorgeous new apartment!

I worked with Ned and the Arete team on a full bathroom remodel. Overall, this was a great team to work with and I was very happy with the work they did. Ned was a great project manager, always a quick communicator and made sure everything progressed on schedule. The construction team was very clean, professional, and overall did great work. I live in an older building and for that reason we ran into some issues with old pipes, etc. and Ned was very quick to recommend options and ultimately get those fixed, the attention to detail was very much appreciated. Overall I had a great experience working with the Arete team and would highly recommend.

We were in search of a design-to-build firm with a good reputation and a quality portfolio. Through the recommendation of a friend, we found Arete. We had a full townhome reno, spanning 2 phases, and we worked with Arete for both. The 'Arete way' is a clear differentiator in comparison to the broken, many vendor, lack of communication experience most have. Davor and Ivana were able to guide us through the design and construction process - it was clear and concise. Bravo! Vasi is an interior designer gem. She dreamed up an impeccable design that felt like dreams could only imagine. Superb! Ned was our PM, the day-to-day glue that kept things moving. He was great. He was communicative, engaged, and informative along the way. Renovations bring a ton of stress, demand, and emotion.. so knowing that we could rely on Ned to 'take care of it' and guide us really put us at ease. Also, positive notes to the sub contractors. All of them were super pleasant and have a visibly strong relationship with Arete. Our only critiques are that the design team needs to have a stronger presence throughout the project. It definitely felt like a handoff and it was rare to see them after. This was even more important when quick reno decisions needed to be made that impacted our original design. Also, much of the proposal pricing was summed in total which made it difficult to understand where the number came from and caused a lot of unnecessary questions. Overall, we are super happy with the way our renovations turned out. Arete listened to our wants, curated a bespoke design, and brought it to life with quality, attention, and detail. Well done!
